About Art Samberg, A Respected Businessman
The CEO, managing director, and chairman of Pequot Capital Management from 1999 until his retirement in 2009, Art Samberg prepared for his career in finance by earning a Master of Business Administration at Columbia Business School, building upon an already impressive academic history during which he has earned a bachelor of science in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT, as well as a master of science in aeronautics from Stanford. After earning his MBA, Art Samberg spent over four decades establishing a respected career within the hedge fund industry, and has used his success to help support various philanthropic and charitable groups.
Still closely involved with his almae matres, Art Samberg provided his keen financial acumen to MIT by serving in various roles within the MIT Investment Management Company, and recently gifted $25 Million to Columbia University. Along with his work with MIT and Columbia, Mr. Samberg serves in numerous high-level positions for a number of organizations including College Summit, which helps students from underprivileged backgrounds attend college. Furthermore, Arthur J. Samberg supports History Hudson Valley, a community preservation organization dedicated to sustaining interest in the culture, history, and architecture of Hudson Valley.
